These are screenies I took of myself playing Phantasy Star Online 2 Closed Beta for Japan.
The PSO series is made by SEGA. In the past, the PSO series has always been P2P. However, it has been announced that PSO2 will be F2P, along with cash shop and on PC (possibly Vita as well), so I encourage you guys to try it out if it gets released in America (which I don't see why not as the other PSO games were). I might play the Japan servers if they don't IP block.
The fighting style is free movement and could surprisingly be played super easily on keyboard & mouse, but also supports game controller too. Skills and classes are very flexible. For instance, you can branch out and change classes as you wish (there are sub-classes and mixed classes).
- Three main races in this game: Human, CAST, and Newman.
- Starter classes are: Hunter, Ranger, Force
- Game style: Free movement, dashing, jumping, Photon Arts, and Techniques
- Character customization is pretty in-depth. (Change size in height, weight, face shapes, eyes, mouth, hair color)
- ***PSO community has ALWAYS been friendly and great!!***
- Ships=servers (Each server includes tons of blocks/channels to switch to and from, so no cluttering)
- SEGA working on maybe implementing ability to switch servers as well.
