Some friend's and I are making a fantasy game. It will have either on par or better graphics than mabinogi and the combat system will be more active. Please take a few moments to answer some questions that will help us not make this game craptacular.

1) What is your favorite aspect about the games you have played?

2) What don't you like about games you have played?
  • Suggestions to help us not do these things?

3) Do you like the economy to be run by only players, by only NPCs, or by both?
  • Why?

4) How much power should a mod or admin have?

5) Should you have to be a admin or pay to do the main story or secret quests?

6) Should rewards from secret quests/main story be able to be traded?

7) How can we get money from the players besides charging to do the main story/secret quests)?

8.) How can characters travel quickly?
Current ideas include
  • Gateways in cities

Giant glowing doorway with runes around it, walk through to get to a different city, kind of like mana tunnals

  • Transportation spells

A player has a spell that consumes low mana out of combat and takes a long amount of time to cast and/or a spell that takes near no time to cast but consumes a large amount of mana to cast.

  • NPC transportation spells

Go to an NPC, they say alakazam and you're in a different place (kind of like in morrowind).

9) How can we make magic worth getting and different from range and melee, but still not over-powered?

Any amount of input is appreciated, and if you help with idea pitching enough we might make you a admin when the game comes out, or at least reserve you the name of your choosing.

1. most i like hmm i like good looking equipment w/ really nice stats
unfortunately in mabi the good looking equipment have crappy stats

2. nothing really other than laggy servers and stupid customer service

3. i kinda like being run by both, since im a pretty f*** up person, i like
to make things expensive. yes its my fault oblivion started at 5m each
yes its also my fault dexterity es started at 10m each Razz

to lazy to answer 4->6

7. well like in all the games mounts r the best thing so people would purchase it
and make profit. teleportation skill or doors or w/e if thier located in the main
towns or dungeons u will just make pets obsolete other than people wanting them
to help in dungeons & sm

best way is i think put 30 servers that can handle 50k-100k people and get them
to pay monthly / or ever expansion lol

That always bugged me too, the equips that look good in our game will be the ones with good stats.

Unfortunately the only way to prevent lagging servers is more servers, better servers, and less people. And we will have moderators, GM's, and admins looking at (nexon calls them tickets but I don't know what we will call them) every day and trying to solve the problems given by them.

So you want weak items that will let you scrape by to be sold by npc's but nice items to have to be hunted for or bought from another player?

We won't have shadow missions... That's kinda mabi only thing Razz
Payed transportation seems to be where this is going... pay an npc to get somewhere quickly, or take advantage of your mount and get there yourself.

This game is just starting up... I doubt we will have 30,000 people signing up that fast. ._.; If this game really takes off and we get a lot of people playing we may end up with that many servers in a while though. xD
I refuse to make people pay to just play the game... If I had to pay to play mabinogi I would not be playing right now. We are going to try to make it advantageous to pay though, like paying for mounts and such.

Thank you for your input! ^^
