Since Baiyu attends UC Berkeley... I read about this earlier this morning and thought I'd post.
Students have a right to assemble and protest as stated in the First Amendment. It's their right as a citizen to gather/parade, demonstrate support or opposition of public policy, or to express one's views and is guaranteed by the freedom of speech and the right to peaceably assemble. This video of the protests at UC Berkeley clearly show unlawful assault and battery by the police force.

It's pretty ridiculous. Video clearly shows that the students aren't causing any physical trouble and aren't hostile towards the officers. Not even weapons.
The police force could have use that man power elsewhere. #stupidgrownmenwhothinkrunningaroundinauniformandgunmakethemthatmuchcooler...
